Built during the British period the colonial style Mount Lavinia Hotel retains much of its historic charm, with door men dressed in shorts and pith helmets. It is one of the most famous hotels in the island, having hosted film stars and politicians. It featured in the film Bridge Over the River Kwai as the governors residence.NB.
