Travels With a Paintbox is a book of watercolours tracing the artist's journey around the beautiful island of Sri Lanka. Here we visit ancient sites and cities; temples and humble dwellings, markets and the life of the streets, we attend a wedding in Jaffna and take a trip on a train to the tea estates in the hill country. Divided into sections comprising the cities of Colombo, Kandy and Galle; the northern peninsula of Jaffna and the ancient sites of Anuradhapura, Pollonaruwa and Dambula. With artist's notes and a text by Dr K P Paranavitana this is part travel book and part diary, evoking the rich history and vibrant culture of the island. It was published in 2018 during the Galle Literary Festival.
